Thanks, Len, for the correction regarding Datek's trading practice, the source I was using was not accurate.
The recent short covering calling still has me suspicious that something may be going on behind the scenes (since other brokerage houses seem to have quite a few shares available to short). Perhaps there is a good explanation, but I have not found it yet.
As for E-Trade, I don't think that the buyer-beware notion excuses them from responsibly executing their clients' order. In addition, my greatest grievance lies in the misrepresentation of their motives, trying to sell themselves as the small investor's friend.
