You wanna gamble? How about going long some SLM? 1. CEO quits/fired- good for about 5 points 2. Equity investment- good for about 50% overnight. 3. Parents diminished ability to heloc/refi college education. 4. No inventory overhang 5. State/Fed budget deficits =less free aid Only problems are securitization markets frozen and less Gov. subsidies to SLM but there are plenty of financially unsophisticated college kids in the pipeline vulnerable to predatory student loans. That plus most of 'em think they will rule the world once they graduate and paying off will be easy with their new megabucks job. (Projections based on FMD story and other silliness pulled out of my @ss.) If you insist on homies, DHI pays a decent dividend for the moment.
