Corel is now trading close to its book value $4.83. Its cash per share is $0.12 - which is low, its current ratio is 2.63 - which is good and its Dept/Equity is 0.17 -which is OK. All in all this is not a bad investment, except there are too many better buys in the market with better ratios and low P/E. If Corel concentrates its efforts on its present product line and tries to increase its cash per share to a few dollars instead of $0.12 by avoiding all these whimsical investments (NC, PDA's etc.) then we will begin to see this share climb rapidly to its old highs, otherwise it will linger between U$6 - U$7 and not go anywhere.
I cannot imagine why a properly run company would spend $3 mil on a contest and go on a parade to sell its products when their cash position needs to be improved.
