Sooner or later you will have to eat that opinion.

Remember, cpq brought tandem for the high end and that means they will be trained in the proliants too.
Tandem was divided into territories and actually had regions, areas,
districts and corporations assigned to acct. managers.

cpq is having no trouble with this strategy somefar.
right now they have massive lead in both the hiigh end and the low end
and in the number of pc's shipped in general
remember cpq still dominates in the shear volume of pc's shipped
and if you think they lost their focus then remember they extended that lead in 3q97.

It may appear that dell slipped alittle bit...
but, they didn't...it's one of those statistic things...
as you get larger some of your stats may cause things to look funny.
Dell had a monster qtr in 3q even though that % might have slipped.
Shear volume is all that counts...in units and dollars.
