Some comments on Novonyx First of all I think it is extremely promising that the announcement was made with a beta version of Netscape Enterprice Server 3.0 running on IntranetWare already in hand. It is important that the new company have products to sell ASAP and keep that focus. Second I hope the licensing costs will not be prohibitive to keep the price down to competitive levels with Windows NT. THird I would like to see two versions of the product released. The first version would be a box that can be wheeled into a corporation running Netware that could be used as just a web server plug-in to the network. The second version should be a replacement version for 3.X customers in the small server market. Here I mean something specifically for the 5-10 user market with a JAVA app/browser orientation bundled with Corel WP products etc. and some development work on hooking in personal databases to the browser. Fourth I want to see the product marketing group come out of Netscape not Novell and go at getting product out with the same energy they used to produce multiple versions of the Netscape browser in record time. Can it be done?
