If a bank makes a mistake, you can bet your bippy that they aren't going to go looking for it, and correct it. The only way they will know that one has been made, is by their customers telling them so. I don't see any dents in productivity in reconciling a bank statement, especially if most, if not all, transactions are made on line. As mentioned, it takes only 5 minutes of my time to do the job, and it can be done while watching TV, or eating a meal.

It is the input that the above was all about. The machines are great, but have you talked to the average teller lately?? The ATM is smarter than he/she is.
I do almost all of my banking on line, but somewhere along the line, another human being handles it. That is where the errors are made.
If your time is that valuable, fine. I guess I am from the old school, and don't allow one penny of mine to be derailed. |
