I would add Lucent to your list of high tech trio. The R&D excellence of the former Bell Labs needs no introduction, and since IPO they have proven their strategic/marketing prowess.

Did you realize the stock has appreciated more than 70% (approximately, from the mid 30s to the present $54-56 last week) since its IPO a year or so ago?

A recent Reuter article (last week) billed Lucent as the future IBM (big, big cap with deep pockets/resources yet fast growing; at the forefront of communications).
