You might be quite correct in saying that several vendors have or had monopolies with
their products.

Where you seem to be confused is that the DOJ is not going after MSFT's desktop
monopoly simply because they have a monopoly. The anti-trust regulations target those
companies that have a monopoly and abuse the power of this monopoly. Its MSFT's
obvious dirty practices that they use with their moonopoly that the DOJ is targeting.

So many people out there think that the DOJ and State AGs are only targeting MSFT
just because the have a monopoly.

If MSFT would have respected their position and played fair they would not be going
to court in Sep.
