The $18.4 billion American Century Twentieth Century Ultra fund, traditionally one of the more aggressive and volatile of the large funds, has had the same top 10 stocks for the three months ending Nov. 30, the latest date for which portfolio information was available. The seventh-largest fund posted a return of 13.8% in 1996.
Ultra has made Cisco Systems Inc. (CSCO) its No. 1, at 6.2% of its $18.4 billion portfolio, followed by Ascend Communications Inc. (ASND), 4.1%; Sun Microsystems Inc.(SUNW), 3.99%; and Merck & Co. (MRK), 3.75%. Those were followed by Citicorp, Chase Manhattan, Pfizer Inc. (PFE), Intel, U.S. Robotics Corp. (USRX), and Cascade Communications Corp. (CSCC). |
