If Cisco purchased AMCC Cisco would destroy 90% of the value of AMCC because AMCC's customers are practically all of Cisco's competitors in the optical and routing space from Juniper, Sycamore and Onis, to Nortel and Lucent. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense to destroy this much value. Tinker
