Interesting post NoName. I agree with your observations but I see the causes from a different perspective. Yes, when the price and the volume rise the mm's are selling and probably selling short and likewise when the price is falling and the volume is rising the mm is probably accumulating, but I see this as his/her job. They are supposed to maintain an "orderly market" in the stock. How else could they do that? Occasionally, things get out of control, as happened this past April and May when the stock went from a split adjusted price of $13 per share to $55 per share in less than 2 months! The mm's completely lost control of the stock and they just let the market mania take over. Anyway, I agree with your observations about the mm's and even though I disagree with the "why" I don't think the "why" really matters. An astute and daring trader might be able to "ride these waves" and pocket some extra $$. Something to consider, anyway. Regards, Stan.
