I see some problems on both sides of this issue. The first problem - and let me be PERFECTLY CLEAR - is that our lawmakers have better things to do than question 6 baseball players. It's a real nice bait and switch headline from the real problems we face such as Iran, Iraq, N. Korea, Social Security, Tax reform, oil driven inflation, campaign finance reform and on and on. It looked good and tough for the TV cameras but they solved NOTHING. In the end people will find a way to do just about anything they want to do - period.

Second, and this turns my stomach, is watching lawmakers made up of KKK members, drunks, liars, killers and cheats question baseball players about injecting steroids. I don't think steroid use is a good thing nor is it a good example to set for our kids. Now what do these "lawmakers" have to say about their own transgressions. I'd like to put some of these dirtbags under the lights and talk to them in the combative fashion they talk to others; all for the benefit of a video clip back home.

Third - Don't we all play a role in setting an example for our kids? Athletes aren't the only people our kids look up to. What about Hollywood? What about corporate America? What about musicians? See, there are a lot of people our kids look to emulate not the least of which are PARENTS!

Yeah - baseball and all pro sports need to police their players better but every single American should take a good long look in the mirror before they start pointing fingers. I think it would be a most humbling experience
