How about the DOD? It's got a ratio of almost 1 back office worker per soldier! It has 100's of billions that it has no idea where it went! I don't know where your statistics come from or how accurate they are, but can't argue that there isn't a huge amount of waste, political patronage and pork barrel spending in the defense establishment. And even as a somewhat hawkish libertarian, I don't have much use for the so called "Patriot Act", either. Also, I shudder at the use of the Orwellian term "Homeland". Smells like the Soviet's "Motherland" and Hitler's "Fatherland". And another disgusting, wasteful, ineffective and intrusive agency is the grandma groping TSA. It also needs to go..
