All eyes on DR SCHMIDT. The mood inside NOvell is very upbeat and the mood outside ( as in this forum and investment community is equallly UPBEAT)

No question whatsoever that Dr Schmidt is the right man in terms of qualification and abilities. Any person with a normal IQ will consider
him to be a formidable competitor.

Question are the execution, distributor and teamwork.
Many distributor and VAR are not exactly pleased with the present system or arrangement. Many are "rumored to be half hearted" in their past effort on sales.

Can or should some of the team in NOvell be overhauled and if so what kind of morale effeect will it have on the company. The work of CTO and CEO is different in this regard. No doubt it is understood by many and yet it is NOT and easy task to foster great teamwork inside and outside the companies. EXECUTION is the Key operative word.

Microsoft has been "extremely agressive" in ASia Pacific lately with Intranet solution and NT. Most people in Asia are in awe and held Microsoft with great respect. Novell may have to implement a "GREAT" strategy in marketing and EXECUTION to reduce the encroachment of Microsoft.MAy Novell prevail in this new Era.REgards
