Hackintoshes are great if you're a tinkerer and like building computers, and you don't mind troubleshooting when something breaks due to an OS upgrade. Most people aren't into that though and just want their computer to work. Hackintoshes would be way too much hassle for them and not worth the money in the long run due to downtime and frustration. Much better just to buy the best Apple product they can afford, in my opinion.
