So you depend on some company to package all those apps for you and you are satisfied with everything that company thrown at you, right? Actually, once think I like about Linux is that most of the apps are optional. I didn't have to install the browser if I didn't want to. I didn't have to install the WebServer if I didn't want to. I didn't have to install the Networking stuff if I didn't want to. So you get the best of both worlds-- a thin OS highly customizable OS with lots of Applications.
