It appears that there is alot of rif-raf on the tracks ahead of the USR train, trying to beat them to the station. The MOT BS is a desperate move on their part. Shoulda been working on research a long time ago. Here's MOT's BS hotline mot.com I really like the part where they will upgrade their registered tidalwave victims when 56k is standerized (read when we figure out how it works) even if we have to send another modem (read cheap, cheezy, couldn't sell anyway, communication device). Also this morning, while chomping on some Wheaties, I heard on the business morning report that ROC has announced that they will be distributing ~100k chipsets for their 56k technology in the next few months. I haven't really checked but I haven't heard where they were testing their standard...Could this possibly be an optimistic shipping date? I would have gotten better information but I was laughing so hard that Wheaties were flying everywhere. It wasn't a pretty sight. Their train better not stop for gas or USR will run over their big fat ... dan.
