betty,

I don't know that I qualify as a technogeek, but I have one of the little critters. At this point, for me it's more a toy than a tool. But depending on how your husband conducts business, it can be very useful to him.

I think the people getting the most use out of their PalmPilot are those who are using the address book function, the desktop software and the HotSync device that links it with their computer. Also, the people who are able to use the PalmPilot with a modem to dial in to company networks for e-mail. Though I've not done either, I recently called on a guy at one of the telecom companies around here. He had the HotSync on his desk, so I asked what he thought of the PalmPilot. He whipped it out of his pocket and starting waxing eloquent about these features.

From my experience, the Graffiti writing language is easy to learn and is a practical way to make entries in a calendar. And it's probably good geek cocktail party chatter to say you use Graffiti.

Another thing to keep in mind. There is quite a 3rd party software orbit building around the PalmPilot. People are making the little box do all manner of tricks.

Go ahead. Get him one!
