Olga, I've used a few web editor programs and here's a real quick run down.

1. The easiest editor program to learn currently is FrontPage 2000. What a change from 98! Most of the function keys work similar to word and then convert to HTML with a menu click. It has some querks though, and is generally not recommended for complex websites.

2. NetObjects is my personal favorite. It is somewhat harder to learn than FrontPage, but gives you a lot of built in functions such as cool looking menu keys. And is well suited for handling sites with 50 or more pages. The templates are also excellent and can be rotating with a simple click. I particularly like the fact that what you see is what you get. Doesn't seem to always work out that way with Frontpage. And tweaking cells and tables can be a real irritation!

3. Dreamweaver I would considered the more complex to learn. It also gives you more features and is more robust. I would only suggest it if you know how to understand some HTML code though.

There are dozens of other editor programs on the market now, I believe these are the top three. They are also constantly upgrading and improving each one. So in a few months things could be a lot different.

Easy uploading on the web for each of the programs is generally dependent on the web hosting site more than the editor programs now. Every editor program can upload in a jiff if the host site accepts ftp transfer.

My suggestion would be to start with FrontPage. Then move up in order.

Best of luck.

Michael

p.s. I believe you can download each one for free on the web and try them out for 30 days.
