Ice, people just don't LISTEN! (I use 'listen' even though we read).
This is pertinent, because it may explain some perceived 'kookiness'.
Please go to techstocks.com
You'll see a guy talk about 'a rumor HP will buy APC'. Then check
the post he's answering to. There is no mention of that, only that HP will get out of the UPS business. The story is not important - only the complete miscommunication is.

I've encountered this kind of complete and total misreading of a post
before. It does not seem possible someone could misread a two-line post, but it happens. Now we all have had verbal encounters with someone who does not listen, but prepares his counter argument while we talk. Apparently this happens even when people communicate by the printed word - with a delay!

Regards Gottfried

PS: Another example - I post that a competitor of company A won't meet earnings projections (as reported by Reuters). Another investor accuses me of 'gloating'. Why? I hold company A's stock, but he owns
the competitor.

Summary: not only don't we LISTEN right - but we don't even READ right.
