"We tracked the recent corporate history of REGN since December 1996 and juxtaposed news items with messages about the company on internet message boards from America Online, Motley Fool and Silicon Investor. We wished to test an a priori assumption: can proprietary information about a company be leaked by anonymous individuals onto the internet in advance of significant corporate developments? If so, is the information reliable? How far in advance do the leaks lead news releases? Does dissemination of proprietary information by individuals on the Internet represent a reaction to a perception that management divulges information in advance to institutions?"
F. Jay Abella, III:
Who's "we" in your message? Are you with the Feds :-) ? You asked a lot of questions, and I think you found your answers already by reading so many posts (I dont have access to aol nor MF). It seems like you disected every words (from me and others on this thread) closely, I am wondering if any of us here is implicated in this conspiracy? You are very mysterious...
Could you share your conclusion of your findings here? I tell you mine as people on this thread generally believed long ago: there are leaks everywhere all the time for everything, not just pertaining to regn, but I don't think we are those lucky fat cats. I am only into the technology and promise of it.
MZ, P&G can now buy up to 20%, isn't that also the ceiling for amgen? Look at amgen today, it got drag along for the ride! They are still sucking from regn?! This is getting interesting, looks like everybody is trying to get a piece of regn. A love affair in a daytime soap, Jay, you see, you still can expect a lot more twist and turns in this, this is stock market...
No condolence for Amgen, but a pad on the shoulder : "hey, work for the love of regn, son" Chuck |
