If that parking garage was built on sand, it's probably gone. They do stupid things like that down there, build concrete buildings with footings in sand.

The storm surge was something like 25 ft high. 25 ft of howling ocean water does some mighty bad things to buildings, even massive concrete buildings.

But, I hope for his sake things turned out all right.

Me, I would have gotten as far away from open water as I could.
