Ah, good old Portland! Love that city. Use to enjoy the vegetable stands on Columbia Blvd. in the "old days" when the Japanese farmed and sold there. Also some Italian farmers by the names of Cadeno and Spada. Now Columbia Blvd. is Industrial. Use to go to the old Whitaker grade school---now non-existent---one was on 60th & Columbia and it closed. The other was on 42nd and it is now closed. Times have changed. Oregon as a whole is more liberal than any other state in the Union. Talk about a mission field. Oregon has every class of people there is in existence. That Oregon settlement east of the mountains that was the home of the India (n) Guru and his followers---that was a little much---all of his Rolls Royces and Mercedes Benz---over by Madras & Redmond area--- "At night my soul longs for Thee, Indeed, my spirit within me seeks Thee diligently; For when the earth experience Thy judgments The inhabitants of the world learn righteousness.
