I work with a bunch of french guys, I have had the French election practically shoved down my throat for 3 mos (along with various films being released at Cannes currently). What a stretch, thinking somebody doesn't know Sarkozy was elected because they mention Chirac. OF COURSE somebody discussing Bush's lack of ability to negotiate with anybody is going to mention Chirac, it has nothing to do with whether Chirac is in power or not, he WAS when Bush failed so miserably with him. Same deal with Blair, hes gone but his failure with Bush (everything Bush touches, fails) will be with him forever even though Blair was a highly effective PM.
