I would hope the field of psychology is as honorable as the other sciences...... faking or withholding data to get a desired result is the most serious of "sins"..... I am dismayed, however, with what seems to be an increase of fakery and cheating in all fields. Fortunately, significant results and data are always verified before being fully accepted.

When you refer to "docs" I assume you mean MD's? If so, the trouble with their studies is that they rarely compare their data to other researchers....this is at odds with other fields...
