Re -- dell doesn't have a p200 with 56k modem and cd rom and 32meg of mem and 1000 worth of software for $1000....home unit

Actually, there is a p200 system with monitor for $1800 (compared with CPQ's presario p200 w monitor for 1500). Also not sure when the price was last updated

However, it does have brandname peripherals. More memory, more L2 cache, a larger/faster disk drive. All of these for $300 is worth more.

Sometimes to the informed consumer Quality brand name peripherals matter, for an extra $300.
