Oracle, Novell Form Partnership

"We're trying to put technologies in place so businesses can conduct business across the Internet," said Gary Bloom, senior vice president of worldwide alliances and technologies division at Oracle.

Under the agreement, Novell will integrate Oracle's new Web Application Server 3.0 with Novell's IntranetWare, Web Server and Novell Directory Services.

The combination will make it easier for customers to use Sun Microsystems' Java network computing applications.

Denise Gibson, senior vice president and general manager of the Internet Products Group at Novell said the combined product will provide security for business information. She noted that keeping data secure has been a major concern for businesses.

Last week, Novell and Netscape Communications announced an agreement to deliver a broad range of Intranet solutions on current and future Novell platforms.
