I don't disagree with what your saying...but there may be more to the Stock purchase than you think. I would not be surprised if Microsoft increases their position (I'm not saying a buyout, an investment). I specifically asked Wavephore about the VBI patents and they told me they owned the technology and anyone that wants to use it has to go through them. They are the only game in town that can reach 99% of the U.S. Something thats been kept low profile is the fact that all the channels on WaveTop are not going to free...Apparently they are going to charge for software downloads (but there may also be a free section). Try downloading Windows Internet Explorer 4.01 and all the add ons (25MB) on the Internet...try 5 hours if you have a fast modem. Go to sleep..wake up in the morning and hope you still have a connection. Well how about downloading it on WaveTop and having it in a few minutes.. Seems like it makes an excellent vehicle for Mr. Gates to distribute his software. With digital CD recorders showing up on PCs, how do you think software and music will be sold in the future? The only hold up is the Internet..it's too darn slow. N2K is already set up to do this with music..they just need the right vehicle....Consumers don't want to wait 2 hours to download software or music. Wavephores got the system in place to do it...
