right. sometimes, however, when one gets too caught up in ta, one forgets that price movements are the results of individuals (or their computers) making individual buy/sell decisions. ta is kinda like thermodynamics: it tries to explain minute phenomena in a very macroscopic sort of way. unfortunately, people are less predictable than gas molecules. this raises some interesting questions about the relationship between technical analysis and program trading. which causes which? which came first? (cluck cluck)

i have a friend who's a mathematician. i just smile and nod when he tells me about his latest theory. :-)
