SGI Japan Unit To Buy Stake In U.S. Topographical Data Firm Monday, April 22, 2002 TOKYO (Nikkei)--SGI Japan Ltd. computer graphics subsidiary Silicon Studio Corp. will buy a stake in Keyhole Inc. of the U.S., a major provider of topographical data streamed over the Internet. Silicon Studio is expected to invest 300,000 dollars, or about 39 million yen, to acquire a stake of almost 10% in Keyhole. Next month, Silicon Studio will also begin sales of EarthViewer, the California company's topographical software, and will offer EarthViewer-related systems configuration services. EarthViewer fuses high-resolution satellite imagery with overlay information about cities and businesses, enabling users to pan on-screen topographical maps with a mouse and even zoom down to individual buildings.
