Actually, he buys old houses in his neighborhood and renovates them (doing the work himself -- he has a thing for carpentry & woodworking). No nice cars (drives an old pickup) and nothing sophisticated.

I suspect he makes more money working on these old properties than he does practicing medicine. He is very proud of what he's done in the neighborhood.

Kind of a strange fellow, but he seems content.
