I try and use OneNote for nearly everything I do. I have installed it on my PC, my iPad, and my iPhone. Because is linked through the Microsoft Cloud the same thing is available me everywhere I am, then I only have to remember what I called something not where it is. It is great for research, I use it for tracking stocks, wines, etc. etc. I do not use it for writing a formal letter though. Yes it is great for capturing website pages, snippets of information, etc. OneNote also does outlining nicely.
One really great use on the iPad is it allows me to takes notes handwriting with my Apple Pencil. So I use it to take notes when I attend presentations and in other situations where handwriting is my preferred mode. Now it also offers to translate handwriting into text, which I do very infrequently but surprisingly works fairly well. It appears to primarily work on the PC, so when I take notes on my Apple iPad later on I will access the notes on the PC and utilize the writing to text translation facility In OneNote PC version. I must admit I hardly ever use it on the iPhone, but it’s there if needed; mostly I use it to read notes when in stores looking to buy something I have researched.
Bottom line it really serves as by electronic memory now, which as a senior I know will be of great importance as I get older. |
