Tony, I quit guessing on OSes when my bosses wouldn't let me run Unix on an Amdahl mainframe, back in 90 or 91. Nowadays, I'll sell to any and all of them. <g> No, I don't think we need another Unix, but if it blows the doors off the old ones, why not? My opinion is that the Unix guys don't want to shed dead weight within the OS, and the marketing guys want to get back to some form of "proprietary openness" so they can pump up the speed and reliability of the apps. It's a never-ending debate, that's for sure, and one I love to follow from the outside. Alliances and competitors can get to be a maze of twisty passages. It's got to be hell in those long-term strategy meetings. buck
