I'm not an expert at options but to me it's funny that derivative securities actually affect the stock they are supposed to be deriving their prices from!

It would make sense to me that this is only near Option Expiration (closest to the most common strike price wins) when the settlement process tends to force the underlying (stock price) to the strike price with the highest volume.

Does this mean that by looking at the option prices in the OE week or before we would know where the stock price will end that week? If so that would be quite amazing...

You're right. Too complicated.... Keep It Simple...

I'm hoping INTC has got some legs left. That DELL forecast of strong PC demand (I think that's what they said) can boost all semis. OE day may have messed things up. But you are right the longer we take to get going the more I get nervous.
