Hi Jury. Got no special knowledge of CNX but I'm guessing it showed up on a stock screen with low PE & PEG values? I believe coal generally does well during periods of high oil prices(which may have topped). Heading into earnings JUL 26.. P&F has CNX with a "descending triple bottom breakdown" The candles are ugly. The recent earnings performance may be excise tax related and not recurring..from YHOO profile >> For the nine months ended 3/31/01, total revenue fell 1% to $1.62 billion. Net income rose 91% to $134.3 million. Results reflect lower coal sales volumes, offset by a $95.3 million export sales excise tax resolution gain.<< It's management or board(being a holding company) is amazingly modest with stock options... biz.yahoo.com So In My Amateur Opinion (IMAO) I think what you see is what you get...stock getting hit going into earnings-not good. BWDIK RE: Market...scary day today..but if OEX etc close near the open we get hammers on the candles.(^_^) Everyone is expecting MOT and YHOO #s to be ugly and so even if they are..that is no surprise. The only possible surprise is good news. OTOH if it looks like we close at the lows I will most likely bailout of the QQQs. Question for the dudes..someone is loading up big time on MDY in the money puts JUL 95s and AUG 94s. Therefore, someone else is, of course, writing them. What do you make of this???
