We both agree again. Here is why we are both right. Vast majority of people are not worried about inflation and could care less about owning anything to do with gold. Thus, these people are not buyers or sellers of gold company stocks. However, with inflation fears, Y2K fears, etc. there will become an increasing number of people (not that many compared to the majority) who will be concerned and who may purchase gold company stocks. They certainly will not be sellers of these stocks. Supply and Demand. Price of these stocks goes up short-term i.e. over next few months, AND you are still content with your view of the world which most people share. :)
