You know that Abbas can't completely shut down the terrorists.


This was inevitable. Sweet-talking isn't going to work; everybody knows it. Does Abbas have the will or the strength to tackle Hamas? Can he get Hamas to commit a sufficient attack on the PA to get public support behind him? These are the questions. Israel has to make it clear to him that they will give all the support they can if the answer is one way, but more and worse attacks if it is the other. And trying to fudge down the middle will not be accepted.
