Howard, et al :
First of all, I am not motivated whatsoever to discontinue my QP subsciption in favor of some other alternative, at least at present. I merely see other alts coming on the scene which will either steal QP market share or prevent QP from increasing market share, probably both.
Secondly, if I will be permitted to post suggestions for improvement in a piecemeal manner, I will start with the one which I believe would really move QP to a better competitive position. That would be to provide a functional and flexible "backtesting" capability into, or adjunct to, the existing scan capability. Backtesting, as we all know, is quite crucial to the research we do. As it is now with QP, either learn VB and develop your own BT system or "forget it". There are too many of us QP users who are not programmer enough to use VB (or something equivalent)to accomplish our BT desires. It just seems that an accompanying module could be added to the pkg which would allow users to specify their "entry" and "exit" criteria from a menu for each scan "hit" in a historical scan.
I have more suggestions ... if anyone is interested.
Best wishes and + side trading to all ... Fred
