< From my long experience I conclude investors with long term investment objective make more money than day traders. > A key point to realize here is that that those who day trade (or position trade) FULL TIME do not wish to become long term investors with that portion of their capital. That's what an IRA is for (long term). Short term trading is what pays the bills for many people so taking profits when they're there is what's important. As a trader I don't care about where stock XYZ will be next year. I'm concerned about where it might be in the next minute, hour, end of day. Dave
