Hiya. Nice to see you again. I don't think what you're saying has validity. It's commonly suggested in the threads that longs take possession of their shares to squeeze the shorts. In reality only a percentage of longs can do this, since people either need the margin the stock generates or will want to be free to quickly sell some of their shares on run ups. Those that are planning to hold long term and who don't margin the stock can legitimately take possession of the shares and that indeed will provide less shares for shorting. I've never seen it suggested before that this could be illegal. I was short ZONA and longs frequently suggested this tactic in the <ugh!> ZONA thread.
