Pezz, can you think of any cultures that restrict education of certain groups (in the taliban case, women), that are not muslim? I know the USA restricted education of blacks during slavery of course, but I am referrring to modern times, where there is such legislation on the books. Imo restriction to education is the most oppressive of all societal ills... many afghan women can't read and are not allowed to learn.
