Dude,

I missed this 60 minute because I was down loading and playing some audio software to keep me up to date. I will check their web site to see the detail. But, this arsenic issue is well known for years, I am surprised 60 minutes wait for so long. It is also known that their governmental officials ignored their duties to look for solutions after arsenic was found in many water wells.

What they need is cash and technology support. There are many well known methods can be used to remove arsenic from water. That country is probably too poor to support such activities. But, there are ways to do it, imho.

Even in US, there are areas has high arsenic in well water. The current EPA standard for arsenic in drinking water is 50 ppb. However, EPA is scheduled to propose a new standard this year. By January 1 of 2001, US will use a new arsenic MCL (maximum contaminant level). It is most likely in the range of 10 - 15 ppb, imho. According to the expert of EPA, there will be over 2000 public water utilities facing technical challenge if the new standard is 10 ppb. Are you interested in saving the world by making and selling arsenic removal filters?

Take care.
