That's very strange, isn't it? If you saved a cockleburr and planted its seeds one the first year, another the second, etc, would they germinate? Or is there only one viable seed on any given cockleburr? If there is more than one, do they become viable seriatim, at one year intervals? What if you took the seeds off and planted them all the same year, but separately and far apart so they hadn't the least idea whether the other seeds were germinating or not?
