I agree Bill. It seems that most folks are looking for a black box ..holy grail system. I have been trading for 5 years and I do not think it exists. I am on a trial basis with OT v4 and can see many possibilities with this program. I use AIQ to produce some very good reports on New highs, hi rs stocks, Vol accumulation etc. I then export the results to Omnitrader and watch for signals on just those reduced down select lists. To scan thru 5-7000 stocks looking for candidates is to me, the same as using a trawler to catch trout. One must pull in a net full of junk to find the good stocks. Using the proper focus list will IMO get better results than looking for needles in a haystack. The program is just another tool in ones arsenal. I so far have found it a real time saver. I have already seen very good results with specific narrowed down groups. I have also found that if I feed it the right candidates, it will produce the desired results. From reading this thread, I get the impression that most folks expect to be handed winners by the bushel. It "aint gonna happen" not only with this program, nor any others I am aware of. "Garbage in Garbage out" just doesn't apply to computers. It also applies to most financial software. The user must take the time to find the best candidates in the best sectors, then feed it to a program to get results. So for what it is worth, it takes some street smarts, market savvy, or whatever you want to call it, to get results and all of the above takes a lot of work. One of the reasons that this thread is not as active, IMO is that this is a program that comes with a lot of automation (read time saver) already built in. It does not need an enormous amount of tweaking to do a suitable job. My read on it is that, that is what the developers intended for it. IMO opinion it does that admirable. To compare it to Super Charts etc, misses the point. I have 3 good programs, SC AIQ and intend to use Omnitrader. They all compliment each other, if used correctly. Thats not to say that it is perfect for everyone. My advice would be for a user to develop a good smaller manageable list of stocks on the move, derived from an intended sector or group with certain attributes, such as pullback lists, Hi momentum stocks etc, feed them to Omnitrader, and you might be impressed as I have with the results. On the other hand running signals on large databases, without rhyme or reason will get you if nothing else, very confused. Unfortunately most new traders spend too much time looking for the magical system software, never realizing that there is no magic. It comes from themselves, learning to use good tools in the proper manner, blended with large amounts of good sense, timing, and experience.
