Of course there's the strong possibility that a good percentage of the people who claim the importance of faith in their lives do so because they're terrified that if they don't they'll be struck by lightning. Then of course there are the ones that are just worried about what the neighbors might think... I don't mean to dispute that there are many for whom faith is important. I just can't lend that much credence to any sort of poll on the subject. This is one subject that many aren't even honest about with themselves, much less with the nice friendly pollster.
