Updated list of RNWK "admirers" and prospective acquirers:

Here's the revised list, in alphabetical order:

1) AMZN (doesn't need it, but loves new customers; e-commerce upside)

2) AOL/NSCP (needs it; good relationship; first, Spinner and Nullsoft, then RNWK?)

3) CBS (needs it badly; no portal or integrated Net property, late to the party and no visible Net "currency"; would we take airtime?! Would Rob and Mel get along?)

4) CMGI (LCOS) (no precedent for acquisition by CMGI, has iCast; LCOS needs it if not acquired by CMGI or someone on this list)

5) DIS/SEEK (needs it; the Mouse very quiet for months)

6) GE/NBCi (doesn't need it; has Cyclone and Videoseeker; owns 10 percent of ITVU)

7) MSFT (needs it badly but already gave it up!; too stubborn to come back?)

8) NWS/FOX (needs it badly; Rupert gearing up for Net operations)

9) T/ATHM (didn't need it until Friday!; court decision may stall competitive edge, thus RNWK a new "hook")

10) TWX (needs it badly for Roadrunner; needs AOL, too)

11) VO/USAI (needs it badly; Diller blew LCOS deal, now on the prowl)

12) Vulcan/GNET (wildcard; outright acquisition would be out of character; still, cable initiative beckons)

13) WCOM (doesn't know it needs it; unlikely)

14) YHOO/BCST (doesn't need it, but good relationship)

15) ZAP ("We will buy your Web site!")

Any other nominations? QCOM? SNE? VIA? Feel free to "enhance" the list.
