By now, you know the tremendous benefits that Toshiba Rambus DRAM offers. You know, for instance, that its high-speed, narrow interface is ideal for low-power applications requiring large bandwidths from memory components. That it lets semiconductor memory keep pace with faster and faster generations of processors and controllers. You know how well it solves memory bottleneck problems. And especially, how efficiently it opens the floodgates for new types of designs.
But now, we'd like to make a small announcement.
0.20µm small, in fact.
That's right, we're making Rambus DRAM at 0.20µm -- the lowest geometry available. What's more, all Toshiba DRAMs are now offered at 0.20mm. And we're the only manufacturer to take such a significant step.
As a result, high-end, server-enhanced applications like 3D graphics, video conferencing, speech recognition and networking can be sure of having the smallest die available, along with increased performance and reduced power consumption.
With Toshiba RDRAM®, you'll get data rates from 600MHz to 800 MHz, allowing up to1.6 Gbyte/sec peak bandwidth per channel. It also offers 32 dependant bands, for reduced latency. Separate data/address/control busses, for significantly reduced bus turnaround time. And a choice of 128Mb or 144Mb RDRAM, for 512Mb density per channel and/or 256MB per module. Plus, Rambus-based graphics boards use fewer signal layers, fewer components and less board space than alternative memory solutions, which translates to lower system costs.
The best part is, since all our fabs worldwide are utilizing 0.20mm technology, you can get all this performance right now. So you can take advantage of tomorrow's developments today. And get a leading-edge position in your marketplace.
Naturally, it all comes with our enhanced process technology. Proven CMOS processing. Seamless scalability. And Toshiba's relentless commitment to putting the tools of tomorrow in the hands of designers today.
