Ed, The problem is that AVNT has "aledgedly" stolen the technolgy from Cadence. The DA in Santa Clara is pursuing the case with vigor. If AVNT loses this case there will be major problems in the stock. I am guessing that Mr. Agussa ( currently under indictment) will cut a deal with the DA to implicate the principles of AVNT. As for the news anoucement, I think that it was done as window dressing to help support the stock. I believe that more bad news is comming not from earnings but from the court room. Mark
