Commendation is the top level of accreditation awarded by JCAHO, the nation's oldest and largest accrediting body for health care organizations. Oakbrook Terrace, Ill.-based JCAHO, founded in 1951, is dedicated to improving the quality of healthcare nationwide through voluntary accreditation. JCAHO conducted on-site surveys of the Plymouth branch in March of 1999. Coram offers a broad range of home care services consisting of high-tech infusion therapies, nursing and home medical equipment. The home infusion therapies include, among others, total parenteral nutrition and nutrition support, pain management and antibiotic treatments. In addition, Coram's specialty infusion focus encompasses therapies and services to pre- and post-transplant patients as well as to those with HIV/AIDS and chronic disorders. The Plymouth branch is located at 45801 Mast Street. From this location, Coram services patients residing in Plymouth, Detroit, Southfield, Pontiac, Monroe, Ann Arbor, Port Huron and Troy.
