NEW YORK (CBS.MW) -- America Online extends Friday's strong gains due to a favorable court ruling, while mergers hurt Allied Signal and helped First Security Corp. America Online (AOL: news, msgs) shares traded at 119 in Instinet pre-open activity Monday. The official NYSE close was 116 5/16, but the stock's composite close was 118. A federal judge ruled Friday that Internet companies should be allowed access to AT&T's newly acquired cable lines in the Portland area.
